1. Schwinn 270 Recumbent Bike - The Ultimate Gym Experience
The Schwinn 270 has all the features and qualities of a commercial exercise bike, providing you with the ultimate gym experience at home. It’s a recumbent bike, which automatically makes it ideal for seniors with various muscle problems or issues that stop them from feeling comfortable on a normal bike. But, it can also boast a host of other great features as well.
For one, it comes with 25 different levels of resistance, allowing you to tailor your workout to your needs. It has two LCD monitors as well, which let you see your workout progress and monitor your heart rate during the cycle as well. For added comfort, you also have a nice padded seat and contoured leg area too.
The main negative aspect of this bike is the price. It’s immediately out of a lot of people’s price range, even though you get a lot for your money. If you’re not super serious about exercise, then this is obviously not a bike for you to even consider.

2. Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike - Great Budget Spin Bike
The Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike does exactly what its name suggests; provides an indoor cycling experience. It’s a spin bike, which means it’s slightly different to your typical exercise bike. The resistance is very much more ‘natural,’ it feels like you’re riding a normal bike! Normally, spin bikes are pretty expensive, but this is probably the best budget spin bike on the market right now. This great price, coupled with many other features, makes it ideal for seniors.
Firstly, this bike has transport wheels that mean you can move it around your house. This is perfect for seniors as exercise bikes are normally very heavy and difficult to move once they’ve been set in place. Here, you just tilt the bike slightly and push it around on the wheels; simple! It also has adjustable handles and seats, which makes it so easy to position the bike, so it’s comfortable for you and doesn’t result in any pain while cycling. You can adjust the resistance as well, which is always very beneficial as some people can handle higher resistances than others.
There are some negative aspects of this bike as well. For one, you don’t get a digital monitor of any kind to track your workout progress. In conjunction with this, there’s no heart rate monitor - both of these things are possible dealbreakers for some people. There have been some people that complain the bike breaks after a few months of regular use, but this could be down to bad assembly on their behalf rather than poor bike quality

3. Assault AirBike - The Best Spin Bike On The Market
The Assault AirBike is the best spin bike on the market right now, period. It’s used in gyms throughout the country, and the military and fire department have also been known to use this model. What you have here is a spin bike of exceptional quality, boasting a whole range of different and useful features. If you’re looking for the best spin bike money can buy, and don’t care about the price, then this is definitely the product for you.
Speaking about the features, one of the things that stands out with this bike is the build quality. It’s incredibly durable, and you barely feel it move, even when you’re cycling at a high pace. This also boasts an LCD screen with lots of different programs built-in to help motivate you as you cycle. I find this particularly beneficial for seniors who have maybe been told to get in a set amount of exercise per day to maintain good health. You can set a time limit, cycle away, and receive motivational messages to keep you going. The screen also shows things like your heart rate and how many calories you’ve burned, which is so great to see. An adjustable seat makes it so easy to find the perfect position as well, which helps improve the comfort of the bike.
Naturally, it looks like this bike has it all - but you’d expect that for something with a price tag like this. However, that’s the main negative point here; it’s a very expensive piece of equipment. Not only that but it might be slightly uncomfortable for seniors to ride on because it’s not recumbent and some people say the seat is a tad hard to sit on for long periods.

4. Schwinn 230 Recumbent Bike - Fantastic Value For Money
I’ve already looked at one Schwinn bike, and the main problem with it was the price. However, the Schwinn 230 represents excellent value for money. It has pretty much everything you can want from a recumbent bike but comes it at a good couple of hundred dollars less than the Schwinn 270. This makes it perfect if you want to buy a recumbent exercise bike with lots of additional features, but don’t want to spend more than $450.
You’ll notice there are cheaper options on this list, but the Schwinn 230 can boast loads more features than both of them. To begin, it has dual LCD screens which let you have a look at different workout programs while tracking your progress at the same time. Speaking of which, it lets you track pretty much everything you need to track; calories, distance cycled, time spent cycling, and more. There are 20 resistance levels too (which isn’t as much as the 270) which let you adjust the intensity of your workouts. Not only that, but it comes with a great little feature to help you enjoy your workouts more; a USB connection port with built-in speakers. This lets you plug your phone into the bike and listen to your music through the speakers. Or, if you’re looking for a more relaxing pedal, you can listen to an audiobook through the speakers as well. To go along with all of this, it has an adjustable seat that lets you find the perfect place for your particular body shape.
This bike has a lot going for it, but there’s also a couple of not so great things worth mentioning as well. Mainly, it takes a very long time to set the bike up. Plus, there are no wheels to move it around, so you better make sure it’s in the right place! Also, the LCD console doesn’t have backlighting, which can be an issue when it’s not bright in the room.

5. Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Bike with Pulse - Space Saving And Incredibly Affordable
The Exerpeutic Folding Magnetic Upright Bike is definitely for a specific type of person. If you have limited room in your home, or want to spend as little as possible on an exercise bike, then this is for you. Pricewise, there’s no contest between it and every other bike on this list. It’s easily the most affordable, making it accessible to seniors that just want a good cheap bike to use at home. The folding features is a bonus too, meaning you can fold it away when it’s not being used, so it doesn’t take up too much space in your home.
For an exercise bike that’s worth around $138.56, you’d expect it to be extremely basic. However, some neat little features come with this bike as well. The seat is designed to be as comfortable as can be. This means it’s a little larger than usual but is padded and adjustable for maximum comfort. Along with this, there’s also a hand pulse monitor that allows you to check your heart rate while cycling. You can even adjust the resistance with 8 different settings! Finally, as well as being foldable, it also has transportation wheels to let you move it out of the way with ease.
There is so much to love about this very cheap exercise bike. The main drawback is that it doesn’t have loads of features. There are no in-built programs, hardly any different levels of resistance, and the screen only displays your heart rate. If you’re looking for a complete exercise bike, then this isn’t for you.
